FTdx-5000 Dynamic Range?

Yaesu apparently has the specification for the dynamic range at 112dB. I looked at the chart (on the PDF I linked to in my previous post) there and it appears it is on CW with the 600Hz roofing filter and a spacing of 10kHz.

112dB would be the highest dynamic range of any RX, as shown on Rob Sherwood's list of receivers he has tested - at both wide (10kHz) and narrow (2kHz) spacing. The closest competition is the R-9500 at 110dB @ 10kHz. I do not think that the 112dB figure is correct. The values Rob Sherwood has shown in relation to the values advertised by the companies, and in some cases the ARRL lab results as well, vary.

I sure hope the FTdx-5000 performs to spec, but as has been seen with so many other radios that probably won't be the case. I hope I'm wrong!

Regardless, the FTdx-5000 looks like a really good radio.

Another point - someone on the yahoo group brought up that the roofing filters shown in the brochure appear to show "9.000mHz" on the spec sticker. This would refer to the first IF stage - as that is where the roofing filters are placed. So, this would confirm that the first IF stage of the rig is in fact 9mHz! Thats awesome!
