About me - Introduction

Introduction to my Site

My name is Steve and my Ham radio call sign is KC8QVO (the address of the website). Within this site I will tell you about myself and what interests me. You will be able to see what makes me tick. I will explain my understanding of various topics through projects and activities I take part in. Please check out the rest of my blog for more information. The topics on my site appear to the right (you probably already figured that out if you are reading this). This is a continuously changing site. I don't have much right now, but it will build as time allows and ideas flow.

If you find anything that doesn't make sense, may not be accurate, a spelling error, or anything else you think should be brought to my attention PLEASE e-mail me and let me know.

The picture I have here is me operating my station at my family's place on Lake of the Woods, Ontario, Canada. Check out my post "Lake of the Woods,EN39 on the air" for more specific information.

About Me

I probably don't need to say this based on the address for the website. However, if you don't know by now - I am a Ham radio operator. The majority of the site is about Amateur (or Ham) radio. There are many posts related to the subject. If you do not know what Ham radio is then, please, look at my post on "Amateur Radio, What is it? How's it work?". The first few paragraphs are designed to describe Ham radio. After that, if you're interested, you can get in to a little more detail. There will surely be more information related to radio theory, antennas, propagation, etc, in the future so check back often!

I am currently a student at The Ohio State University. I just switched in to the Technology Education program this fall (07). Check out my post on "OSU - school" for more information.

I fly radio controlled airplanes. In the past few years I have been more in to designing and building my own. Check out my posts related to "R/C Airplanes" for more
information.

I like to travel. One of my passions in life is driving. I drive a transport truck for Lexus, the car company. I also travel a lot personally. Check out my post "Driving - State Count" for more information.

I am a truck guru. I like trucks. Every kind of truck interests me. My personal truck is a 2003 Chevy Silverado Z71. All of the accessory work and modifications I do my self. Check out my posts related to "Trucks" for more information.

I am an avid outdoorsman. My main focus is fly fishing. I just can't get enough of the casting. There is just something magical about the way you cast a fly rod that intrigues me. I also like hiking, camping, and water activities. Check out my posts related to "Outdoors" for more information.
