OSU's Farm Science Review - Tues-Thurs

The Ohio State University is having their annual Farm Science Review this week - Tuesday the 22nd through Thursday the 24th. It looks like it might rain so I am curious how things will turn out. Last year the weather was great - actually, maybe a bit too dry.

Speaking of the weather - with the rain that we have had in Ohio the past couple days I am curious as to what they do about harvesting. Because of this specific event I know the harvesting has to take place during the event as that is part of the show. I bet they are in for a wet crop even if it doesn't rain the rest of the event... Lets hope it goes as well as it possibly can.

If you have any interest in farm equipment (are you a John Deere fan? a Case IH fan? New Holland?) or farming in general the Farm Science Review is a great event. It is the only one of its kind in the country having the diversity it does - the carnival atmosphere with games along side equipment dealers, all the way up to full scale equipment and process demonstrations at adjacent fields. They even have a nature preserve you can walk through for some wildlife viewing. Just don't be fooled in to thinking that the main area with all the tents (as huge as that is) is the only attraction to the event. You have to take a ride on a tractor wagon over across the highway for the real stuff....

Here's a preview with my write-up of last year's event.
