KPH SK at 0706z

Well, I caught the beginning and the end of KPH running on the air tonight! It was pretty neat listening to 8643kc waiting for them to start up. It was very hard digging KPH out of the noise right at the beginning. I hopped around trying to find better propagation on another band, but propagation just wasn't there until the sun went down here. Then they were rolling right along at S5-S9 with fairly quick QSB the rest of the night.

I tuned to a couple other stations also - KSM and WLO. However, I didn't leave the rig on them long. Just enough to hear they were on the air!

Hearing commercial CW stations is something we just don't hear anymore! Commercial Morse code went off the air 10 years ago. Night of Nights commemorates the "Last Day" every year by putting these commercial coastal stations back on the air.
